Thanks to you, GALA had a banner year. Some of our accomplishments:
- Partnered with 9 organizations and chartered 5 buses to take the largest contingent from DFW to Advocacy Day in Austin. - Produced a comprehensive Voter’s Guide and sponsored 4 Meet the Candidate events in two counties. - Trained over 150 straight allies on how to support our community (thank you to our amazing Ally Committee). - Hosted monthly social events at local supportive businesses in Denton, Collin and Dallas counties. - Held two trainings for youth volunteers. - Grew our social media reach through Facebook to over 5,200 followers becoming a GOTO place for information on issues affecting the LGBT+ community -- locally and beyond. - Expanded our Board of Directors, more accurately reflecting the diversity in our community. - Educated our community through events including film screenings of Gender Revolution and Upstairs Inferno. - Honored straight allies at our 2nd Annual Ally Award event. GALA Youth partnered with local Gay Straight Alliances for two successful events.
